This one-day, in-person free workshop at the RAND Corporation in Arlington, Virginia, will give journalists access to and information from some of the nation’s leading climate change analysts.

RAND — a nonprofit, nonpartisan global research organization that tackles the world’s toughest problems — is sponsoring this training in partnership with Poynter to advance journalists’ understanding of climate change using the most reliable and scientifically accurate information available today.

The sessions will include lectures and group discussions, as well as breakout sessions and opportunities to connect one-on-one with RAND policy experts.

Speakers include Benjamin Preston, senior policy researcher and director of community health and environmental policy program; and Aimee E. Curtright, senior scientist. Both are professors at the Pardee RAND Graduate School.

Lunch, coffee and snacks will be provided, and parking is free. (More information on parking and directions will be provided after registration.)

Learning Outcomes

Attendees in this one-day workshop will:

Requirements

This training is designed for any journalist, but particularly early- to mid-career journalists, who live and/or work in Washington, D.C., and who want to improve their knowledge of climate change issues.

The process to register is straightforward and simple. Please be prepared to answer questions about your professional experience, areas of interest and basic demographic information.
